PARKER HEATH
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Parker Heath is a San Diego–based interdisciplinary artist and designer working across painting, ceramics, textiles, and functional home objects.
He received his BFA in Studio Arts from San Diego State University in 2022.
Using a multimedia approach, Heath examines how art, materiality, and function intersect—challenging conventional boundaries between fine art and design in contemporary life.
From this exploration, his work has developed a distinctive visual language that merges modern aesthetics with instinctual, primitive influences, creating pieces that operate as both visual compositions and lived-in objects.
In addition to his work as an artist and small business owner, Heath is also a professional freestyle BMX rider, and actor.
Held Gesture
This exhibition presents a focused selection of Parker Heath’s FRAMED WOVENS — architectural textile works that exist between painting and object.
Derived from Heath’s original paintings and translated through mechanical weaving, each piece reflects a deliberate integration of contemporary technology and traditional fine art thinking—preserving a gestural immediacy while introducing structure, depth, and permanence.
Neither purely image nor purely textile alone, these works function as constructed surfaces—meant to exist within real lived-in environments..
Gesture becomes structure, surface becomes form, and painting becomes soft sculpture.
Presented at CROFTHOUSE LA, this exhibition reflects a refined chapter in Heath’s ongoing exploration of how paintings can transform into operating as physical, lived-in objects.
